In some Homes all staff members are paid; other Homes have a mix of volunteers and paid staff.
A corresponding secretary should be involved in the paperwork.
At least one staff member should be on the premises at all times. The night-time staff member can rotate with others or elect to live in the home full-time. Co-ed homes are okay.
Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner may require a cook, but if the residents’ skill level is adequate, they may be able to assist with breakfast and/or lunch and dinner.
A driver for the van could be a volunteer. Van use, for example, doctor appointments, activities, employment, if resident can’t take a bus.
See section 9 for discussion of responsibilities and/or chores that residents can share.
Staff should always be alert for any signs of abuse in all aspects of a resident’s life, at home or away.
